Why is it every time it’s time for me to write this note Mother Nature decides to dump a foot of snow on us. Coincidence!? I think not she knows I love it…..And with Punxsutawney Phil seeing his shadow we are going to have 6 more weeks of this. We have had a nice couple of months, quiet but nice just the same.
From November until halftime of the Super Bowl we ran our membership drive. Thank you to every-body who signed a member to be entered and all that worked Bingo to be entered. If you have never worked Bingo you should try it, it is fun. Stop by on a Tuesday and try it out, you’ll be hooked. Oh you want to know who won….well it was Dottie McGlone for Bingo and Chuck Barrett for the mem-bership. Enjoy your new TV’s and Thank you. Speaking of the Super Bowl what dominance by the Seahawks, who saw that coming.
As we move forward, winter will have to release its grip on us and let spring come back. We will restart our work on with the Patio. We just ran out of time in the fall, so you should start to see some more progress come late April. We will be installing the fence and ground work. If you would still like to donate to the building of the fence you still have time to do so and get your name on the com-memorative plaque. We appreciate those who have and those that will in the future. And oh by the way the women out raised the men for the fence. I think the ratio was 2 to 1.
By the time you read this pitchers and catchers will have reported and spring training will be full swing. A time where every team believes they can win the World Series. Can the Red Sox repeat? Or are they rebuilding? It is also a time where we will be electing our new officers. Do you have what it takes? Are you ready to step up to the plate? If you are, look in the information center or talk to an officer to find out how. We are always looking for new ideas, new energy, new blood if you will.
So after the latest snow storm, let’s think about the warm weather and the grand opening of the patio. We can all enjoy a cold libation and watch me pay off the bet with the women. What cha got Steffy?

The 125 Club Wrap-up Party will be held on Saturday, March 8, from 5 - 8 PM. For
those that want to enter the appetizer or dessert contest, bring a dish and judges
will decide the winner of the best entry, which will receive a free ride in the next
125 club, plus free breakfast and meat bingo tickets. Make sure you sign up at the
lodge if you plan to enter. Although there will not be a sit-down meal this year,
there will be plenty of food. All beers and well drinks will be sold to 125 members
for only $1.25 each all night, doubles or top shelf drinks will be priced accordingly.
As we like to do on many Monday drawing nights, we'll have trivia contests, mini
meat bingos, and other entertainment. Music will follow in the lounge. Oh and yes,
final prizes will be drawn halfway through the party. The next 125 club will begin in
May, but we'll have other activities scheduled in the lounge on some Mondays in
March and April, so watch your web blast! Thank you to all that participated this
year, especially the Monday night faithfuls, that helped to raise money for Holiday
Dinner baskets for local needy families.

From the Senior Regent,
Well what a winter it has been! As far as I am concerned
that stupid Ground Hog Phil can stay in his
hole. If you are like me you are ready for spring. That
will be the time where the men pay off their bet for
the fence, or more importantly The Governor will be.
That’s right we beat the heck out of them. Thanks
Jana and Stephanie for pushing the fence competition
and to all who donated.
If you can find time you should come and support
the Chapter at the Mid-year Convention. Amy Alden
and GiGi Larsen will be receiving their Academy of
Friendship Degree; this is a great accomplishment for
the both. Please congratulate them when you see
them.
