posted May 26, 2010, 1:55 PM by Samuel Chase   [ updated May 26, 2010, 1:56 PM ]

Wow. What a year! What did we accomplish this year? Here are a few examples of excellence from our lodge this year:
·1 Nominated for Non-profit Business of the Year by Dover Chamber of Commerce
·2 Members (Tom Bishop & Dolph Toigo) deliver and install granite counters at Mooseheart
·3 Gave over $20,000 to those in need
·4 Sponsored the Hieliger Awards (awards for youth volunteers) to rave reviews!
·5 Phantom of the Moose (our first ever dinner theater) raises over $900 for DCH
·6 Awarded Moose of the Year for the whole Northeast (Dan Moynahan)
·7 Awarded Premier Lodge award
·8 Received a new Pilgrim to our lodge (Dolph Toigo)
·9 Wake the Dead (follow up dinner theater) raises $1,343 for Ageless Dreamers
·10 Awarded Rookie of the Year for the whole Northeast ( Mike Dean)
·11 Started sports scholarship for local youth sports.
These are just a few things. There are so many great things that we have done, big and small not only in our community, own lodge, at conventions, the Northeast and throughout the country, yes country. We had lodge members (Tom Bishop & Dolph Toigo) travel to Mooseheart to deliver and install granite counters for Mooseheart’s science class room. All these things have us in the running for Lodge of the Year.
Ladies and Gentlemen, it has been a truly great year. I thank you all for your time and service. We had more people and more FIRST time people giving of their time and talent than in years past.
I thank you. I am honored and touched by all you have done for your lodge, community and for me personally.

Fraternally Yours,
Rocky D’Andrea – Jr. Past Governor

Moose Legion

As the new President of the Moose Little Legion, I wanted to take this time to say hello. I am looking forward to working with the new officers and we have already come up with some new ideas. Starting April 30th at 6pm we will be having a Little Legion dinner every Friday. Check out the calendar to see who and what they are cooking. Maybe you have a favorite meal or cook or maybe you want to rock the Moose with your specialty, let me know. The cost will be $4 for the meal and we will be limiting the number of meals we make so show up early and make sure you get yours. Not a Moose Legion member? ASK around, you’ll find us and we will let you know what we do. The 2010-2011 Board of Officers are Michel Dean, President; Jim Towle, Secretary; and Stephen Moynahan, Treasurer.

Fraternally yours,
Mike Dean

Watch the game or the race and try something different!

Uncle Moose Needs You!
We are now accepting nominations for 1 year trustee. We will be holding a special election at the end of May to fill this vacancy. If you are interested, nomination sheets will be hung by the information center at the lodge. This is a great chance to do a little more for our Lodge!
